Motoko's latest floral is reminiscent of her young adulthood. The chrysanthemum is the national flower of Japan. The design incorporates the Kimono which was given to Motoko by her parents when she turned 20 years old, a custom in Japan. Motoko's Kimono has three chrysanthemums, one for herself and one for each of her two sisters who also wore this Kimono when they turned 20 years old. This Kimono will be handed down to Motoko's nieces which is another custom in Japan. It signifies respect for the quality and craftsmanship of the traditional garments and their culture.
